Josh Elder's Visit
From MyTracs
Josh Elder, author of Mail Order Ninja and many other comics and graphic novels, visited with the MyTRACS interns on May 10, 2008.
Check out our Our MyTalk discussion pages to see how much we discovered (and how fun we had) during his visit. Here's a sampling of our comments:
- Josh discovered his love for comics at an early age. When he was 4 years old his mother was reading him a Transformers comic book when she suddenly lost her voice. This was unacceptable to a 4 year old Josh, so he took the comic book, looked at the pictures, and tried to figure out what he could. Because the pictures were so detailed there wasn't much need for words so all Josh had to do was look up the words he didn't know in his kid's dictionary. In a week he had taught himself to read.
- Today, our clan of MyTRACS Warriors were visited by an extraordinary guest, the ELDER. His specialty is creating graphic novels, and he was here to enlighten us on our path to excellence. He gave us insight into his method of writing, and he broke down the structure,so that we may be able to rebuild it. He spoke with voices that kept us interested, and incited us to think inside the gutter.
- I'd like to thank Josh Elder for his kindness for taking the time out of his day to visit us, and thanks for the books.
And, of course, don't forget:
Josh is a really funny guy. He does a great Arnold Schwarzeneggar impression.
